Art of the Animal Kingdom XX
Please Read the Information Below and then Scroll Down to Submit Work
For this, our twentieth show, we have asked our past Special Guest Artists to each submit a piece to be exhibited within Art of the Animal Kingdom XX. The staff at The Bennington will have the pleasure and honor of selecting the show itself.
Past Special Guest Artists follow:
Bob Kuhn, Nancy Howe, Michael Coleman, Sandy Scott, Carl Brenders, Jan Martin McGuire, Dan Smith, Bart Walter, Laney, John Seerey-Lester, Terry Isaac, Morten Solberg, Luke Frasier, Greg Beecham, Carel Brest van Kempen, Rosetta
All entries of animals or birds, wild or domestic, are to be submitted as JPEG files via the form below. The piece must have been completed within the last two years. Traditional fine art media will be considered and the artwork must be finished and framed in a way that is ready to be exhibited in a fine art show. Two pieces per artist can submitted by each invited artist with no jury fee. There is a $15 fee for each additional piece.
Three-dimensional pieces must have at least two views. Upload a second image for this second view.
Note that you will receive multiple confirmations. You will receive a short thank you with additional instructions upon the completion of each step followed by an email receipt after you have paid your submission fee. You will receive a personalized email from either Shirley or Taylor when your submission has been processed. If you do not receive an email from one of us thanking your for your submission, please contact us to verify that we have indeed received it.
Images must be received by midnight on Saturday, March 21.
Shipping and Insurance:
All accepted artwork will need to arrive at the Center between the dates of May 22 - 29. Please include a shipping label for return shipping at the conclusion of the show. Should your work sell you will not be responsible for shipping to the buyer. All artwork will be insured from the time of its arrival until it is returned or sent to the buyer at the conclusion of the show.
As in previous years, we need all two-dimensional work to be shipped in Airfloat containers. Should you not send your 2D artwork in Airfloat containers we will request a $35 handling fee. This can be sent in the crate at the time the artwork is shipped. Should you wish to purchase an Airfloat be sure to give them our name and they will offer a 20% discount. We DO NOT make a commission on sales but feel strongly that this is the safest and most convenient method of shipping for all parties.
The sales price of the artwork will be set by you. The Center will retain 40% of the price of two-dimensional work and 30% of the price of three-dimensional work. Please note that from the date the piece has been juried into the show and through the show's conclusion, any sale of that piece must be made through the Center with the Center retaining commission. The sale must be made with the understanding that the piece will remain with the show until its conclusion. (Bronzes with multiple editions available are the exception to this.)
There is no jury fee for the first two pieces for those invited to submit work for this exhibition. If you know someone that is interested in participating but has not been invited, please contact me. Additional pieces can be submitted for $15 each.
Each artist will be required to send The Bennington $135 upon acceptance into the exhibition and in return they will receive 5 copies of the catalogue in mid-June. All artwork in the show will be included in the color catalogue. (We will use the digital file that you submit for catalogue production so please submit your best image for jurying so that the catalogue production is not delayed. We may not be able to accept superior images closer to production.)
