One of the country's most prestigious wildlife exhibitions opens on June 15 and will run through late August. This year's Special Guest Artist is Carel Brest van Kempen. Over 65 pieces will be included in this impressive exhibition and all work will be for sale.
Saturday, June 15 events:
2:15 - Show critique by Carel Brest van Kempen
3:30 - Blue bird lecture by expert John Rogers
4:30 - Reception
5:30 - Dinner (artists and guests only)
8:00 - Caravan of Thieves concert $20 in advance, $25 at the door.
Sunday, June 16 events:
9:00 - Breakfast (artists and guests only)
11:00 - 2:00 pm - Demonstration and lecture by Carel Brest van Kempen

This annual exhibition will include over 60 scenes captured in paint and bronze. Seashores, rolling hills, foliage and New England wildlife will be depicted in fine works of art.

Artists from around the country and the world are invited to submit work to be included in our fifth annual fine art competition. The show will be juried by Peter Trippi, Editor-In-Chief of Fine Art Connoisseur. $7,000 in awards will be given and the representational artwork will be on view and for sale at the Center through the mid-September.

Fine art - 11 x 14 and smaller - is available for immediate purchase in this gallery. Artwork is representational but not limited to a theme. Figurative, landscapes, cityscapes, wildlife and still-lifes by nationally recognized artists make up the show.

A group of artists made up primarily of professors from the art schools at Dartmouth and Yale will be collaborating to bring a very unique show to The Bennington. The focus is on geometric abstraction on canvases both large and small. Work is for sale.

The Bennington is proud to again host the annual show of the SAA, Art of the Animal. Juried by the Society the show consists of paintings, drawing, bronzes and carvings done by members and associate members of this world-renowned group.

DATES: September 7 - December 22, 2013
Artists invited by Plein Air Vermont will be painting scenes in and around Bennington in early September. Following the show, at least one piece by each artist will be on display and for sale at The Bennington, including all award winners.
