The Bennington Collective

 kəˈlektiv/

noun -  1: a group of entities that share or are motivated by a common issue or interest, or work together to achieve a common objective.

2: a cooperative endeavor.

The Bennington is very proud to announce that artist memberships are now available. For twenty-two years the Center has been supported by many of the finest artists in the country through participation in our exhibitions and this has allowed us to bring world-class art to the residents and visitors of New England. By offering artist memberships to what will be known as The Bennington Collective we will be able to continue to do this while offering unique benefits to the artists to show our appreciation to those that have made this possible.

Our goal for The Bennington Collective is to offer a physical space in which exceptional representational artists from coast to coast can come together work with other like-minded artists to paint, sculpt, exhibit, teach, learn and spend time with kindred spirits. Bruce Laumeister and Elizabeth Small have put their hearts into the Center for many years now and they want it to live on for many more years to come. They feel this will be a reality through the support, ideas and love of its members.

Those invited or juried into The Bennington Collective will be only the very best artists in the country. Depending on the membership level, benefits may include waived jury fees, use of studio and/or workshop space at The Bennington and accommodations at The Bennington’s historic home in Old Bennington based on availability. Master Members will be welcome to host solo shows, again based on availability. Finally, every year the Center will host a juried member-only exhibition and create an accompanying catalogue.

We strive to be an institution that is known not only for the reputation of exhibiting the finest contemporary art but for also supporting the artists who allow us to bring their art to our patrons. We hope you will consider being a member of The Bennington Collective, a family of highly respected artists who are interested in participating in wonderful art exhibitions while also guiding the future of the Center and possibly the future of representational art in New England.
